Learn More about me..
SERVING THE STUDENT BODY:
Since my first year at university I have actively served the student community. I was elected as a course representative in my first year and re-elected for the two consecutive years; addressing various students complaints from replacing lecture rooms to an entire module in the program of study. I have founded and chaired the University of Plymouth United Nations Association, establishing a forum for fellow students to engage in political debates, within our university and also participate in national and international debates concerning global issues.
I have also been an active parliamentarian, having been elected as your Education campaigns officer and as chair of the Equality & Diversity UPSU sub committee. As a chairman of the Equality and Diversity committee, I have contributed to the process of improving the accessibility for wheelchair users on campus; and looked into providing diverse options of food catering at campus cafeterias and extending their opening hours. Moreover, as an Education campaigns officer I have engaged in campaigning for the improvement of course work and exam feedback.
I HAVE THE SKILLS:
Being highly involved within the university community and students union has equipped me with the necessary skills and experience that will help me successfully lobby interests of students. Having been exposed to many different cultures, I have acquired the skills to engage with and handle students needs coming from various cultures and backgrounds. Being a hard worker and goal oriented person, will help me achieve the goals that we will establish together.
Why vote for me?
I am an ideal candidate to make sure your voice is heard and necessary actions are taken for the change to happen. I firmly believe I posses the character and skills to become UPSU president.
